West Tytherley nursery welcomes children’s cookery author Annabel Karmel to celebrate new food partnership

A daycare has opened its doors to a top food specialist and well-known children’s cooking author to help her improve her child’s menu.

Eco Montessori at Norman Court, a day care center in West Tytherley, hosted renowned children’s cooking author Annabel Karmel MBE to celebrate her partnership with The Nursery Catering Company.

The new partnership aims to provide freshly prepared, nutritionally balanced meals to children at Eco Montessori crèches in Salisbury and Winchester.

The food delivery service works with kids’ food guru, Annabel, to deliver a delicious and varied menu to supply kids with the best food for busy days of play, learning and development.

The established author, who is behind books such as Weaning Made Easy, Annabel Karmel’s New Complete Meal Planner for Baby and Toddler and Top 100 baby purees, spent the afternoon with staff, children and parents, trying out a variety of dishes designed for the new Expert Kids Menus.

Annabel, 65, said: “Food habits and tastes are formed at an early age, so it is extremely important to introduce a good variety of foods as early as possible. Eco Montessori Day Nursery shares my vision of making every day filled with flavor and goodness, and I look forward to continued feedback from the smallest of the nursery’s food critics.

“With The Nursery Catering Company, I understand the increasing complexity and risk of managing allergies in a nursery. By partnering with us, Eco Montessori can feel safe knowing that every child’s needs are being taken care of. Every day we cater for children who have a range of special dietary requirements, making our lunch, tea and dessert options as similar as possible to standard menus.

Annabel’s recipes incorporate classic meals, hidden vegetables and flavors from around the world, all of which have been tasted and approved by the most discerning of Norman Court base eaters.

Nursery owner Susan Hartley-Raven said: “We enjoyed welcoming Annabel Karmel to our nursery. We had a great tasting which was delicious with lots of new recipes and choices.

“Thanks to this partnership, we can serve healthy and balanced food that is delicious and suitable for children. Mealtimes are a buzz in the nursery with children, laying the foundations for life, enjoying tasty healthy food as well as learning table manners and etiquette on this sociable nursery occasion. A big thank you to Annabel for coming to share her new recipes with us, we can’t wait to serve them to our children.”

Chris Zych, National Sales Manager at The Nursery Catering Company, added, “Making the decision to outsource nursery catering is a big decision. But that doesn’t have to feel like a powerful move away from this “home-made” offering. Quite the opposite, in fact. Together with Annabel, we have developed an affordable food offering that ticks the tasty box. »
