‘The Last Stargazers’ Author Speaks One-on-One With Carnegie Observatories Director – Pasadena Weekendr
Emily Levesque, author of “The Last Stargazers,” will discuss her book during a conversation with John Mulchaey, Director of Carnegie Observatories, at the Pasadena Literary Alliance’s Open Book event on Tuesday, June 14, from 6:30 p.m. at 21h.
The event had to be rescheduled from Tuesday, February 9, out of concern for the author, moderator and attendees. Tickets already purchased will be transferred to the new date, organizers said.
“The Last Stargazers” shares the stories of modern day astronomers, people willing to venture through high mountains and into some of the most remote corners of the planet, taking readers inside the world’s most powerful telescopes , and explores the future of astronomy as humans gain the ability to see further beyond planet Earth than ever before. It’s a witty, honest and engaging love letter to astronomy and the human role in scientific discovery.

Open Book takes place onsite at Carnegie Observatories, 813 Santa Barbara Street in Pasadena. Then the author joins you for a dessert reception and book signing.
