A reading with author Ron Currie Jr. is scheduled for Thursday, May 26 at 5:30 p.m. via Zoom, presented by the Franco-American Collection at the University of Southern Maine, Lewiston-Auburn College.
Currie will read an excerpt from an as-yet-unpublished new novel set in the Franco-American community of Waterville. A question and answer session will follow the reading.
Currie is a novelist, screenwriter and native of Mainer. His work has been translated into 15 languages and he has won the New York Public Library Young Lions Award, the Metcalf Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, the Alex Award from the American Library Association and the Pushcart Prize, according to a College press release.
As a screenwriter, he most recently worked on the Apple TV+ series “Extrapolations”, slated for release this year. His short fiction, non-fiction, essays and reviews have appeared in The New York Times, Salon, The Believer, The Chicago Tribune and many other sites.
