Deadline for 2022 York County Tax Relief Program Approaches
The deadline for York County’s 2022 tax relief program is approaching. for York County Seniors (65+) and Permanently Disabled Residents may qualify for this program. This tax exemption program allows exemption or partial exemption from property or mobile home tax. The application deadline is April 1. To learn more about the program, please click here.
Providence Classical School (PCS) Patriot Perseverance 5K Run/Walk
The second annual Providence Classical School (PCS) Patriot Perseverance 5K Run/Walk will take place on Saturday, March 26 from 6 a.m. to noon along the Greensprings Interpretive Trail and the Virginia Capital Trail. The trails will remain open during this event. For more information, visit here.
York County’s proposed budget for fiscal year 2023 released
York County Trustee Neil Morgan presented his proposed budget for the 2023 financial year at the regular meeting of the Supervisory Board on March 15. This budget will begin July 1, 2022 and run through June 30, 2023. Morgan shared budget drivers and priorities, but also warned that changes could occur depending on the actions of the General Assembly. Author to be presented at York Hall
Non-fiction author and local historian Amy Waters Yarsinské will present his book “Flyboys Over Hampton Roads” for the York County Historical Committee on Sunday, March 27 at 3 p.m. at York Hall, 301 Main Street in Yorktown. This event is free and open to the public.
Youngkin proclaims Virginia Veterans Day in Vietnam
Governor Glenn Youngkin proclaimed that Tuesday, March 29 would be recognized as Virginia Vietnam Veterans Day to honor the men and women who served in the United States Armed Forces during the Vietnam War. Toano Convenience Center will be open on Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays
the Toano Convenience Center located at 185 industrial boulevard extends its opening hours from March 28. The Center will be open weekly on Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information on accepted materials, visit the website.
