Stranger Things creators, the Duffer Brothers, previously announced that the critically acclaimed and highly rated series would soon be ending with season five. In a statement, Matt and Ross Duffer told fans that they crafted the entire Stranger Things story arc seven years ago and predicted that they would complete their story in the space of four or five. seasons. More recently, the writing duo admitted they already had an idea for a spinoff show that they believe would be the opposite of Stranger Things, but admitted they haven’t put their pen to paper yet. paper.

Although it seems like fans are waiting a while to hear about the spin-off, there is a series of official Stranger Things novels that expand the universe around the series.
The three books are: Suspicious Minds by Bond, Darkness on the Edge of Town by Adam Christopher and Runaway by Brenna Yovanoff and are currently considered canon.
Suspicious Minds is a particularly interesting story, focusing on how Terry Ives (played by Aimee Mullins) became involved with Dr. Martin Brenner (Matthew Modine) and lost his child Eleven/Jane (Millie Bobby Brown) to evil scientist.
Suspicious Minds also introduces other participants in the experiment and digs deeper into the background of Terry and Eleven’s father.
Reflecting on the possibility of Suspicious Minds being adapted for television as a spin-off series, Bond said: “Obviously I would love that.
“I have no idea but I wrote it, thinking of it as a TV season because I wanted readers to have that kind of experience that you would have.
“I certainly thought about integrating a set into a world. But obviously, that would be pie in the sky. I would love to see these characters. I would be extremely honored if they used one of these.
Best-selling author Bond has researched the era extensively, from the types of Halloween costumes worn to all the details of secret CIA-funded MK-Ultra experiments and everything in between, saying it was luck that baby boomers are “fetishized” and documented their youth because it had a lot to do.

The writer was working on Suspicious Minds while Stranger Things season three was in production, meaning Bond was able to ask the producers if she had any questions while writing the novel.
Bond didn’t receive a blueprint while working on Suspicious Minds, which allowed her to delve into the era and create a cast of quirky characters for her novel.
She decided to create a group of friends at the center of her story to serve as foils to the “boys on bikes” in Stranger Things, while exploring the space occupied by women in the 60s.
Suspicious Mind certainly draws from the era of the Swinging Sixties covering everything from misogyny, racism, the Vietnam War, sexual liberation, the Cold War and everything in between.

Bond also spoke about being open to returning to Hawkins’ world, saying, “I would come back and play in this universe any day, nothing planned at the moment as I know in terms of characters.
“My schedule is quite busy, but I would make room if I had the opportunity to write another book because it was so much fun.
“And the fan community around Stranger Things is so beautiful and warm and has been nothing but angels and I love them.”
Bond has also written a series of Lois Lane novels focusing on a teenage incarnation of the character and is now busy working on many other projects including a book called The Frame Up which is described as Ocean’s 11 meets A Picture of Dorian Gray . She also has a fantasy romantic comedy called Mr and Mrs Witch in the works.
