Save the Date: Author Mónica Guzmán to Speak January 5 on Curious Conversations During Divided Times
Many of us find it difficult to communicate with those who do not share our values and ideas. Mónica Guzmán, author of the recently published book, Never Thought of It This Way: How to Have Fearless, Inquisitive Conversations in Dangerously Divided Timescomes to Edmonds on January 5, 2023 for a community conversation to find common ground.

Guzmán is a bridge builder, journalist, and author who lives for great conversations sparked by curious questions. His new book was featured on the Glenn Beck Podcast and named New York Times recommended reading. She is a Senior Fellow for Public Practice at Braver Angels, the nation’s largest grassroots cross-partisan organization working to depolarize America; founder and CEO of Reclaim Curiosity, an organization working to build a more curious world; host of a series of live interviews on cross section; and co-founder of Seattle’s award-winning newsletter L’Evergrey.
In addition, she was a 2019 Fellow at the Henry M. Jackson Foundation, where she studied social and political division, and a 2016 Fellow at the Nieman Foundation for Journalism at Harvard University, where she studied how journalists can rethink their role to better meet each other. to the needs of a participatory audience. She’s been named one of Seattle’s 50 Most Powerful Women, twice been a Pulitzer Prize juror, and plays a barbarian named Shadrack in her Best Friends Dungeons & Dragons campaign.
A Mexican immigrant, Latina and dual Mexican-American citizen, she lives in Seattle with her husband and two children and is the proud liberal daughter of conservative parents.
