Nanaimo author helps charity with memoir sales

Alison Marie’s memoir ‘My Anchor of Hope’ examines domestic violence and trauma



Memoirs of Nanaimo author Alison Marie My Anchor of Hope: A Journey of Restoration, Redemption and Freedom is sold at Chapters.

Marie donates $5 from every August book sale to Haven Society to raise awareness about domestic violence “and the effects of trauma on child development and the brain,” according to a press release.

Marie is a domestic violence survivor who raised three children, earned a master’s degree, and opened her own counseling practice.
