MIAMI, October 18, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — Capturing the success and curiosity of “Latinas Rising Up In HR”, author and Chicago-native, now miamiHuman resources manager Priscille Guasso recently launched “Latinas Rising Up In HR, Volume II” to University of Miami Herbert Business School in Storer Auditorium.
The book features inspiring stories of aspiring human resource professionals who bravely overcame obstacles and defied statistics to achieve their dreams in corporate America, nonprofits, government, and as entrepreneurs. Guasso explained that for Latino professionals to succeed in human resources and bring about change for our entire Latin American community, a concrete step is to boldly share your story in your circle of influence.
“As we look at the statistics that Latinas make up less than 2% of leadership positions, the continuing widening pay gap, the fact that Latinas make up 1% of board seats, and a recent study of Forbes reporting that 98% of HR professionals are burnt out, it is imperative that Latinas, allies and organizations come together to create ACTION to combat this within their own organizations,” she said. In our second volume, we continue to encourage Latinas to take ownership of their personal development, ask questions to advocate for change, and respectfully challenge our organizations to do the same through strategic action. In just two years, we’ve seen the impact this anthology and community has had for Latinas in HR globally, such as career growth, support, encouragement, resources, and moments. of celebration as we reach each of the milestones (development and promotions).”
In Volume II, Guasso will feature new stories from Latina HR professionals.

Fast forward to today, we have 15 new authors, more of 500 Latinas in HR, a social network of 10,000+ professionals, and a goal to share our keys and open doors for us based on our four pillars: Opportunity, Philanthropy, Exposure, Networking. We are grateful for our partnership with University of Miami for welcoming us to their campus. said Guasso. “My vision is to continue our movement globally, releasing Volume 3 in 2023 to elevate even more Latinos, Latinas, Latinx, Latina, and Hispanics as HR executives.
