MAHONING VALLEY HISTORY: The Vienna Historical Society will host Sean Posey, photographer and author of “Youngstown Lost” and “Historic Theaters of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley”, who will speak at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Vienna United Methodist Church, 4265 Warren-Sharon Road. Books will be available for sale after the meeting.

CRAFT SHOW: The Bristolville Spring Craft Show will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at 1864 Greenville Road. There will be concessions, a 50/50 raffle and a silent auction. The money raised will be donated to the Warren Family Mission, the Leukemia Foundation, the Bristol Library and Bristol Township. Items are accepted for auction. HORSE SHOW: A horse show will be held Saturday at the Trumbull Career and Technical Center, 528 Educational Highway, Champion. The event will take place rain or shine. The show is free for all ages. The show starts at 9am with the arena opening at 8:30am. There is a large outdoor sand arena and an indoor arena. There will be prizes and concessions.

LIBERTY CLEANUP: Liberty will hold its annual community trash cleanup from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday and noon to 2 p.m. on May 1. Any clubs, groups or families interested in cleaning up the areas are asked to meet at the township administration building to be assigned a street or participants. can clean up their own street. FUNDRAISING EVENT: A fundraiser to help Erica Murphy, who needs a handicap accessible van, will be held from 1-5 p.m. May 1 at the Weathersfield Fire Station in McKinley Heights. HOLOCAUST RECOGNITION: The Council on Jewish Community Relations’ annual student Holocaust writing, art and multimedia competition will be held Thursday noon at the Mahoning County Courthouse. The event includes an educational presentation by Dr. Jacob Ari Labendz. Local students will be recognized in the competition.

SOCIÉTÉ GIRARD: The Société historique Girard is organizing a membership campaign with individual memberships at $10, family memberships at $15 and student memberships at $3. YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS: Junior Achievement of Mahoning Valley, in partnership with Eastwood Mall, will host a Youth Market Day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Niles Mall. The event will feature young entrepreneurs offering their products and services for sale to the public. The jury and prizes will be awarded at the end of the event.

The awards ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. at Eastwood Mall Center Court. Customers will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite business and awards will be given to winners in three categories.

JCC OFFERS LIFESAVING TRAINING: The Youngstown Jewish Community Center is offering lifeguard training for ages 15 and up on Fridays, Saturdays and May 1st.

This class provides participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies until EMS personnel can take over. Participants who successfully complete the course receive a certificate from the American Red Cross.

Training is 5-7 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and May 1.

Participants will have the opportunity to acquire a position as a lifeguard at the Jewish Community Center upon successful completion of the training.
