Former Navy SEAL and author Willard Chesney joins CBS SEAL team actor Justin Melnick with the release of the NFT collection on the ReserveBlock RBX network which benefits the Boot campaign
MIAMI, August 16, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Former Navy SEAL operator and author Willard Chesney, the dog handler during the historic raid on Osama bin Laden’s compound, and Justin Melnick, who plays Navy SEAL dog handler ‘Brock Reynolds’ on CBS’ hit SEAL TEAM TV series, are joining forces to release an exclusive NFT collection using the ReserveBlock RBX Network (reserveblock.io) protocol with a portion of the proceeds going to profit from the Boot campaign. This exclusive NFT series will come with special unique digital and physical memories as well as digitally coupled with personal experiences with Chesney and Melnick and will be offered directly from their digital wallets to all who wish to participate.
Chesney, served as a SEAL team operator and dog handler for Military Working Dog (MWD) Cairo, the only dog on the team that performed Operation Neptune Spear. This infamous operation resulted in the elimination of Osama bin Laden and ended an eight-year campaign to capture or eliminate the notorious terrorist. Chesney, who was both an attacker and dog handler at NSW DEVGRU (SEAL Team Six) is also the recipient of the Silver Star and Purple Heart, as well as the author of the bestselling book “No Ordinary Dog”, published by Saint-Martin Hurry. While this gripping and moving memoir details Chesney’s working relationship with Cairo through multiple deployments, it also commemorates how he saved Chesney’s life in multiple ways. Will now works to help veterans who have suffered from traumatic brain injury.
“I always knew I wanted to serve and serving on SEAL teams was my life’s purpose. I never dreamed that I would have the chance to become a handler on the teams. My dog Cairo was a special animal with a special soul – he was truly part of our team like any other operator. Being able to continue to tell his story in different ways and help others is the best way I know to honor his life. Although NFTs are new to me, they clearly provide me with a platform to do just that: help others and carry on. Cairo legacy,” Chesney said.
Partnering with Will is the CBS SEAL Team actor Justin Melnick, who also served his community as a police officer before his television career. On the show, Justin stars as “Brock” the team’s dog handler, alongside his Belgian Malinois named Dita. Justin spent much of his later years devoting time and personal resources to several veterans causes, and also worked closely with Chesney on various training exercises with their Malinois.
“Playing Brock on the SEAL Team has given me an even deeper perspective of our incredible heroes. My admiration for what they do is immeasurable,” Melnick said. “They’ve given so much to this country, and I’m proud to play one of those heroes on TV. I couldn’t be more excited to kick off this NFT series with Will, and can’t wait to connect with like-minded people who also want to show their support for our heroes.”
Details of the launch of this exclusive NFT Hero series will be released in September along with the series release date.
