Dales author launches landscape-inspired clothing line
Hannah Russell, author and entrepreneur from YORKSHIRE Dales, has started a new business based on her love for the countryside and the outdoors.
At 25, Hannah is generally known as the bestselling author of the Little Alf books. Her first book based on her miniature Shetland pony was published when she was 17. Over the past eight years she has discovered a love for business and now runs four businesses all based in Yorkshire, including an indoor gift shop in Leyburn. .
His new venture Wild and Country Clothing is a brand inspired by the countryside and the outdoors. Hannah graduated as an interior designer three years ago and her work often encompasses hares, deer, pheasants, as well as the countryside.
Last year, Hannah started putting these designs on clothes by inviting her friends and family to wear them. After learning about their origin, she began working on other designs using colors inspired by the landscape of the Yorkshire Dales.
The business is set to launch online on Saturday, June 11; the first collection is a combination of sweatshirts, t-shirts, polo shirts and accessories.
Ms Russell said: “I am delighted to be launching the business, it combines my passion for outdoors and interiors. The brand is very much inspired by my home here in Yorkshire, I want to build a business that is also a community and for those who also love being outdoors.
“Wild and country is designed in Yorkshire and made in the UK using organic and sustainable fabrics. I think it is important to protect where we venture, so if we go outdoors to take care of the area and the wildlife around us.
