Acclaimed local science fiction author JM Clark is taking things from fantasy to physical reality with the opening of The Tome Bookstore.

Located at 2123 Beechmont Ave. at Mount Washington, the Tome will offer “new and used books, as well as classes that teach kids how to write their own stories, create characters, tell their own stories and more,” a statement read. Press. There will also be an on-site cafe with coffee and baked goods and a gift shop.

Led by Clark, the best-selling author of “The Palace Program” trilogy (The new kings of tomorrow, tomorrow’s anger and The end of tomorrow), and his wife, Autumn Spencer, the Tome is “committed to promoting literacy and diversity while providing the community with a place to gather and space for creativity and expression,” the statement said.

“I wrote the trilogy to show how science fiction can be used to explore social issues and promote diversity. Now I’m excited to open The Tome Bookstore and give people of all ages the opportunity to learn about writing and storytelling,” Clark says.
