Although there may be a small amount of truth in this statement, is this how God views those who oppose Him? If we take a closer look at the truth of God’s word, we might be surprised to find that God’s love is just as pure as his anger.
The purpose of this book is not to provide the reader with a spiritual thunderbolt from all the other sentences, but to provide the reader with a warning regarding how we approach God. We must come to him in humility and on his terms. We must have a reverential fear of the Lord because not only is He a God of grace and mercy, but He is also the righteous Judge who will render to each his due.
This book is meant to warn those who choose to disobey God and go their own way. But also, it is meant to give hope to the reader who may be struggling with their faith. God is a merciful God who forgives those who have a contrite heart. He never rejects anyone who desires forgiveness and is willing to repent of his sinful lifestyle to follow Christ. Those who call on his name will find peace and purification. Those who do not call on Christ will become an enemy of God.
